The 2024 Market Queens Summit, themed “Building Market Women for Prosperity,” held on November 15th, 2024, at the Accra Digital Centre, highlighted the contributions and challenges of market women in Ghana. Organized by the WERise Network in partnership with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), SheHub and The Mastercard Foundation, this year’s edition focused on empowering market women by building resilience, developing skills, and promoting sustainable growth strategies.
Over 400 market women from major markets such as Makola, Dome, Kaneshie, Madina, Burma Camp, and Dansoman attended the summit. The event provided them with the tools and knowledge needed to build resilient and sustainable businesses, offering a platform for networking and fostering economic prosperity and financial independence.
Through WERise Network’s initiative, the participants benefited from an extensive training program that covered essential topics such as banking, insurance, health, and other key areas for their personal and professional development.
